A happy kid grew up to be a happy, joyful, fulfilled woman -- rain or shine she was unflappably positive.

Angel Casey in her element -- Live radio 1940's style -- Whatever the microphones picked up was instantly on the air. Tape delay wasn't invented until 1952. So, you played your part live in real time. Perfection was the expectation and the rule.

In her early 20's, she was on six live daytime shows. That's six live reads per day, Monday through Friday which totals over 1500 live reads a year. Even seasoned thespians might have been overwhelmed. Angel performed nearly flawlessly from day one.

Obviously, this required a high degree of professionalism from the actors. Angel Casey excelled -- Few could cover the inevitable mistakes of her own or her fellow performers as well as she. Which is one reason why the radio community respected her so greatly -- honoring her with the prestigious "Queen of Chicago Radio" award. She won this award three times.

After this "trial by fire" experience, she was confident her abilities could handle any situation or scenario life threw at her. Lorraine "Angel Casey" Meinecke exuded poise, class, and confidence throughout her life, come hell or high water, straight through to the end. She passed surrounded by those she loved, as she listened to the hymns we sang. Special Thanks to Pastor Christopher Browne.

Exploitation? Not by the standards of the day. In those days, this was considered good wholesome fun.
We need to understand this is where we came from.

The two pictures above are of Lorraine "Angel Casey" Meinecke and Tristan Meinecke's first house in Chicago. Prior to this, they had been living in a rental on Demming Ct. The house was located at 3025 N. Greenview. The pictures are from 1954, the year before their first child was born. The clean lines of 1950's minimalism where uppermost in her thoughts as she decorated -- the art of her husband, Tristan Meinecke, is displayed throughout the living spaces.
